A rare, highly sought-after variegated Monstera with striking cream-and-green marbled leaves.
Monstera Deliciosa Thai Constellation 40cm
12cm diameter pot, 45cm tall
Light: bright indirect light -- more than a standard Monstera, since the pale variegated patches can't photosynthesise. Avoid direct sun and low light. Water: prone to root rot -- let the top half of the soil dry before rewatering, roughly every 6-10 days locally. This plant is most at risk from Port Harcourt's heavy rains if left uncovered outdoors, so ensure excellent drainage. Soil: chunky, well-draining aroid mix; pot must have drainage. Humidity: PH's natural humidity (60-88%) is ideal, no extra effort needed outdoors. Feeding: light balanced feed in the rainy season; reduce or skip in the short dry season. Common issues: overwatering/root rot is the single biggest risk here, especially during the long wet season.
Port Harcourt / Nigeria climate note: hot year-round (approx. 25-34C) with high humidity (avg ~71%, rising to 80-88% in the rainy season, May-Oct). This generally means less need for artificial humidity for humidity-loving plants when kept outdoors, faster soil drying in heat for well-drained pots, and a real risk of overwatering/root rot for drought-tolerant plants if exposed to heavy seasonal rain without good drainage.
