Light: bright, indirect light near an east/west-facing spot; tolerates lower light with slower growth and fewer leaf perforations. Avoid direct sun, which burns leaves. Water: water when the top 1-2 inches of soil are dry, roughly every 5-7 days in PH's heat; water thoroughly and let it drain, never let it sit in water. Soil: well-draining aroid mix (bark, perlite, peat/coir); pot must have drainage holes. Humidity: loves humidity above 60% -- PH's ambient humidity naturally meets or exceeds this most of the year, so little extra effort is needed outdoors. Feeding: balanced fertiliser at half-strength, every 2-4 weeks in the rainy/growing season. Common issues: yellowing leaves = overwatering or insufficient light; brown leaves = low humidity or irregular watering. Provide a stake/moss pole as it climbs.

Port Harcourt / Nigeria climate note: hot year-round (approx. 25-34C) with high humidity (avg ~71%, rising to 80-88% in the rainy season, May-Oct). This generally means less need for artificial humidity for humidity-loving plants when kept outdoors, faster soil drying in heat for well-drained pots, and a real risk of overwatering/root rot for drought-tolerant plants if exposed to heavy seasonal rain without good drainage.
