Celebrating Nature: The Wedding of Oluwatosin AjibAde (Mr Eazi) and Temi Otedola

At Lush Gardens, we are always drawn to the way nature can shape celebrations. It can guide design, inspire emotion, and transform a gathering into something unforgettable. This was beautifully shown in the wedding of Oluwatosin AjibAde (Mr Eazi) and Temi Otedola, the final chapter of their three-country journey, held just outside Reykjavik in Iceland.

Nature as Inspiration

The wedding did not try to cover the landscape. Instead, it embraced it. At Kleif Farm, a glass pavilion was built in the middle of rolling fields where streams ran and horses grazed. The transparent walls allowed the mountains and sky to remain part of the celebration. Inside, the design mirrored the outdoors, so that nothing felt separate from its setting.

Temi Otedola said that her vision was to bring Iceland’s natural landscape into the tent so that the outside and inside became one. The result was a space where the land itself felt present at every table.

Creating Unique Experiences

Guests arrived to find an ice bar and an escort table carved from frost. They dined at long black tables filled with running water, fog, moss, and calla lilies. These tables were more than décor. They were living pieces of the Icelandic landscape brought indoors. Every detail was carefully thought through so that the experience felt both surprising and deeply connected to the place.

Working with Natural Elements

What makes this celebration stand out is the way natural elements were used as the foundation of design. Moss, stone, water, and fog were not just accents but central to the entire atmosphere. This choice gave the reception an authenticity that no artificial decoration could have achieved. It is a reminder that nature, when given space to lead, has a beauty that needs little else.

Intimate Dinner Set Up at Lush Gardens Port Harcourt (2023)

Temi Otedola and Mr Eazi’s Iceland wedding reminded us of one of our own nature-inspired intimate dinner settings at the Garden Studio in Lush Gardens. At the heart of everything we do is a connection to plants, flowers, trees, and botanicals. Nature is our guide, and creating with it as inspiration has always been one of our favourite ways to explore design.

For this tablescape, the base of the arrangement was a combination of black painted stones that gave the design weight and grounding. Black-painted heliconia flowers added sculptural form, while green anthurium leaves were placed in clear tubes held in black boxes so they stood upright, almost as if they were still growing from the earth. Candles rested on the stones, while glass bottles filled with water lined the table, catching the light and adding movement. Black, white, and gold accents tied everything together, creating a setting that felt rooted in nature yet refined in its expression.

We believe design is most powerful when it is thoughtful. Every element on the table was chosen with care, not only for how it looked but for the story it could tell. For us, working with nature means allowing it to lead the process and letting every detail carry meaning.
